Maintenance |
|
Just like any other garden you may have had, a cutting garden requires some maintenance as well. You may spend some time weeding, mulching, fertilizing, tilling the soil to get things ready, what ever the situation, it does require some work. The amount of work spent depends on the amount of time you take to design your garden and plan things out. The better the selection of plants you have for your specific site, the better chance you have of not having to spend time fertilizing and amending your soil. If you spend the time to take care of your garden, you will get great results if the things you have planted were meant for that site. If not, things wont grow and bloom as they should and you could end up with some bare spots in your garden. You definitely want to avoid having bare spots in your cutting garden it will just stand out way to much. You will have a great looking garden and get great results if things are carefully planned out and you stick to your plan. |

The next thing you want
to consider as far as maintenance goes is figuring out whether you need
to water your plants or if they get sufficient rain water and will grow
just fine. It is hard to depend on the rain in many states
in the U.S. You never know what you are gonna get. You must
keep an eye on your plants to ensure that they are not to wet or to dry
in their selected site. With the right amount of water given to
the plant, you may end up with beautiful looking plants like the one shown
to the left here.
Once you have them grown in your garden, you can cut them to make a beautiful arrangement for your house, as well as leave some for the outdoors. You can have great smelling plants, attractive features such as flowers, and even low maintenance. The easier the better it will be for the garden owner. You may be able to get great looking arrangements such as this one located to the left. Just think of how great your house will look and smell with fresh cut flowers like these adorning your rooms. All of your relatives will be dripping with envy, sitting in constant awe as you have one of the best gardens on the block. |
